Feb 11, 2010 07:00 PM 17 days in the 3 Guianas, Brazil and Venezuela

This 17 day trip started in Cayenne,French Guiana where I went to receive a group of friends from Europe travelling in French Guiana, Suriname , Guyana,Brazil and Venezuela.
In Cayenne we stayed in the well appointed hotel located in the center of the busy shopping and tourist areas. We were lucky to be there on Carnival eve and to enjoy the sights and sounds. Devils Island and the Space centre in Kourou were interresting. Continuing by road in ac bus to Paramaribo Suriname. The old city is a Unesco Heritage site and definitely worth a visit.
Two days later, Georgetown, Guyana is another remarkable capital. A guided city tour unravelled its colonial history and showcased its beautiful buildings, colourful markets, and friendly people. Kaieteur falls is a gem of nautre. Karanmbu ranch and Iwokrama Reserve are rich in wildllife.
The trip continued to Mount Roraima, via northern Brazil where we enjoyed the local cuisine and sights. The trek to Roraima itself was an awesome excperience! We also visited the Gran Sabana - a gem in Venezuela. What a superb holiday to 5 countries and experiencing 5 languages!.
This trip is offered by Dagron Tours, Guyana.www.dagron-tours.com.
