I've been wanting to travel around the world on my own and would want to find people who love the same thing and share the wonderful/awful experience.

Medan
I don't understand why they drive the zig zag way despite the fact that they are going straight. Very busy and polluted. People follow tourists around to force you to buy their goods. Guess what? my brother and cousin's hotel room was haunted too! They had to switch rooms. Medan is the shopping centre. Get everything for a cheaper price. The art of bargaining. I bought loads and loads of batik and their cakes.
Parapat
Takes 4 hours by bus to arrive. The roads are small compared to Malaysian roads. I can't imagine myself driving there. It was scary. But everything became ok once I reached Lake Toba. On the boat, wind blowing on my face. Cold! 900m above sea level. The Batak kids who handled the boat sing some songs to us on the way. Learned about the Batak tombs and their rituals. I got a Batak calender but couldn't find Batak book for souvenir. At night, we sang in the karaoke room at the hotel.
Brastagi
Took 4 hours from Parapat. The coldest! 1500m above sea level. Water was like ice. The ethnic there was Batak Karo. Mostly Christian. Saw them dressed up for Christmas as well. The scenery was awesome. Like Cameron Highlands but we have better hotels I suppose. Fresh fruits, vege and flowers. Wish I had a chance to stay longer.
