Cusco travel:Cusco city, the ancient capital of the Incan Empire, was placed on the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO in 1983, and is without doubt one of the most important destinations in Peru. There are Inca buildings waiting for you to discover them among its cobble-stoned streets, like the Koricancha and the palace of Inca Roca as well as Andean Baroque structures from the Colonial Period like the Cathedral and the Church of the Company of Jesus. In addition, you can visit the picturesque neighborhood of San Blas where the best artisans in the region have set up their workshops. This magical city also has an exciting nightlife with cafes, restaurants, and bars for all tastes. Just ten minutes away from the city, there are the massive walls of the Sacsayhuaman fortress, and a few kilometers from there, you'll find the archeological sites of Qenko, Puka-pukara, and Tambomachay, Inca buildings made completely with stones.cusco travel

There are also the towns of PĂ­sac, Maras, Chinchero, and Ollantaytambo, which are spread throughout the Sacred Valley of the Incas, an hour from Cusco. From there, it is possible to catch the train to Machu Picchu. Another way of getting to the citadel is by following one of the Inca Trails, a spectacular network of pathways that snake their way among the snow capped mountains, rivers, and overwhelming countryside. This is one of the best trekking routes in the world, since scattered throughout it, you'll find remarkable archeological sites and areas rich in unique vegetation and animal species.

Day 1: Cusco / City Tour:

Cusco travel:Reception at your arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel, you'll have free time to rest to avoid altitude sickness. In the afternoon the trip will start with the visit of the Koricancha temple , The Main Square or Plaza de Armas, The Cathedral and continue to visit the following Inca sites: The Sacsayhuaman fortress the site is strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco and is famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9m/30ft tall and weighting over 350 tons, set together with astounding precision to form the outer walls. Day 2: Cusco / Machu Picchu

Cusco travel:Pick up at the hotel to board the train for a full day tour to the magical inca city of Machupicchu, 112 Kms. from Cusco. During the journey we'll see the Urubamba canyon, Urubamba River and the snow capped peaks Veronica Mountain range.
