Peru in December

Alon,
Although it is summer, December starts Peru's rainy season. Even with that, you should only have rain a couple of hours a day, and aside from travel complications (roads are not great), it really shouldn't stop you from doing anything. There is a private rail system - trains don't run all days to all locations so you will want to coordinate your destinations in advance and buy tickets ahead of time. There is service between Cuzco and Lake Titicaca. I would do some research on the bus system - when I went in 2002 we were advised not to use it because it was too dangerous both from an accident and a theft standpoint. If you are wearing backpacks, get a PacSafe net. We met travels who had their packs slit and contents taken while they were wearing them.

If I think of anything else, I drop you a note!
