Hi all,

Thanks for all the input.

I have booked and am ready to go.

As I wanted a holiday to relax rather than an an adventure I am heading off to Malaysia as it has nearly all the pre-requisites I was after.

KL for the shopping and although no grand sights but lot's of local culture, then to Langkawi Island for the sunshine, beaches and some diving (even if it is not supposed to be mindblowing).

Why there? Short flying time from OZ 7.5 hours and friends of mine manage a fantastic little resort there (www.casadelmar-langkawi.com). Plus the weather should be good.

If you are wondering where Langkawi it is located near the border of Thailand on the west coast directly below Phuket.

Will think of you all whilst sipping Margaritas on the beach...and will write lot's of good stuff when I get back!

Cheers,

Kerrie

Hi Kerrie,

have a good trip! I have been to Malaysia in 2001 on my way to Australia. Its a great country. Unfortunatelly I did only have a few days. Let me know if you are heading for Thailand next time, there is a lot I could tell you about Thailand, especially the islands like Ko Lanta and Ko Samui.
