The horizon is too close to the half split (the golden rule is 1:3 or 2:3), the line on the left does not fit the composition, and I think I also see something on the bottom right, too - which does seem necessary. The contrast could have been better... I mean more of it, I looks a bit bland to me. Gosh, I hope this is helpful ;) chretien - Nov, 05 2009 07:11am Krisek, correct!! I had to take this picture very fast. It was a shot from our ship, seeing a wall with a very strange shape, the holes in it. It looks like the bends in the wall belongs to one of the vessels.... Krystof has in a very dedicated manner explained th ephotographic principles behind potential improvement to the picture. For me however this recalls a very happy day I spent in Holland in 1979 and since then I have always been interested when I heard or saw the name Lely anywhere. I do not recall this rather unique "wall" and I must find out what it may be. chretien - Nov, 06 2009 06:11am Horourke!! Hi !! The wall is just a separation between the harbour and the lake.
