Filtering Water for the Hike Out's by eirekay

Yosemite National Park - United States, California The back country rivers contain guardia, a bacteria which can make you quite ill. Water needs to be filtered before it can be drunk. Here two of my favorite people, daughter Lila and my close friend and frequent travel companion, Mary, filter using a "Sweet Water" system. Even a day hike up Half Dome requires a water pump. As a side note, Mary held Lila as a new born baby - Lila has changed a lot but Mary looks exactly the same.
