One of 6 bronze figures at Mahamuni Phaya Temple that were originally enshrined at Cambodia's Angkor Wat. They were first looted from Angkor Wat by the Thais in 1431, then looted from Ayutthaya by the Burmese in 1564 and taken to Bago in Burma, then loot from Bago and taken to Mandalay in 1663. There were originally many more bronze Khmer figures in Mandalay, but they were later melted down to make cannons to defend Mandalay Palace by order of King Thibaw.
