Statue at the Wat Lao Buddharangsy Temple's by el2995

Modesto - United States, California Statue at the Wat Lao Buddharangsy Buddhist Temple in Ceres, California, near the city of Modesto. Like the Stockton Cambodian Buddhist temple, the Laotian Buddhist temple also has a Buddhist New Year festival normally on the same weekend; many of the the California Thai and Burmese Buddhist temples will also hold New Years 'water festivals' on the same weekend, making it hard to decide which one to attend. The Ceres Laotian temple has a tradition of flooding a low-lying section of the temple grounds during their New Years festival; I have yet to see it, but may end up driving out there this year if I don't attend the Thai water festival at the Fremont Buddhist temple, which also sells traditional home-cooked Thai food every Sunday to raise money to support the temple and monastery.
