Hi Andy,
It appears that I'm having the same problem with Kingstown St Vincent - being unable to create a new destination report.
Could you have a look into this please.
Regards

Hi Misty,
I have corrected the error.:
http://www.globosapiens.net/st-vincent-and-the-grenadines-travel/Saint+George/Kingstown.html
Problem is, that there are some countries where I did not have the time to find out on which continent they are. As long as there is no continent entry for the country this error occures.
Maybe if someone has the time or the knowledge he/she could look it up and complete the list? I am posting the countries where I do not know the continent to this topic.
Here they come:
Navassa Island
Bassas da India
Bouvet Island
Congo, Democratic Republic of the
Cocos (Keeling) Islands
Comoros
Northern Mariana Islands
Coral Sea Islands
Cape Verde
Jarvis Island
Equatorial Guinea
Europa Island
French Guiana
Falkland Islands
Faroe Islands
Baker Island
French Southern and Antarctic Land
Georgia
Guernsey
Glorioso Islands
Gaza Strip
Heard Island and McDonald Islands
Howland Island
Man, Isle of
British Indian Ocean Territory
Clipperton Island
Jersey
Jan Mayen
Johnston Atoll
Juan de Nova Island
Kingman Reef
Christmas Island
Palmyra Atoll
Mayotte
Midway Islands
Netherlands Antilles
Pitcairn Islands
Paracel Islands
Spratly Islands
Guinea-Bissau
Reunion
St. Pierre and Miquelon
St. Kitts and Nevis
St. Helena
Somalia
Svalbard
South Georgia and the South Sandwi
Tromelin Island
Turks and Caicos Islands
Tokelau
Sao Tome and Principe
East Timor
Tuvalu
Virgin Islands
West Bank
Wallis and Futuna
Wake Island
Best regards,
Andy

This is a nice puzzle. When in doubt, ask Rangutan anything about cultures, language, geography, geology, techniques, tectonics, also astronomy!
It is easy to divide 99% of land mass into continent categories but some islands are between them. Iceland for example lies on the North Atlantic Ridge but is considered as a European nation because of its Scandinavian connections. Greenland too but obviously influenced more by the proximity to the North American Plate.
The vast anti- or NON-CONTINENTS are the “Caribbean” and worst “Oceania”. How do we deal with these? Most references combine the thousands of Caribbean islands correctly with South America or “Central America”, the pacific islands together with Australia. The categories “Caribbean” and “Australia & Oceania” are very practical for listings. Definition and borders of Oceania and the Caribbean – disputed till today!
The Bahamas (really an extension of Florida, divided by a strong current) is geographically NOT really in the Caribbean (neither Bermuda) but they are mostly accepted and considered as it, also Hawaii being part of the North America!
I can easily post these now:
Baker Island- OCEANIA- Mid Pacific US dependancy
Cape Verde- AFRICA- Independant islands west of Mauratania & Senegal
Comoros- AFRICA- Independant islands in the Mozambique Channel
Congo, Dem Rep- AFRICA(huge) formely Zaire or Congo-Kinshasa or Belgian-Congo
East Timor- ASIA- became independant from Indonesia in 2002
Equatorial Guinea- AFRICA- islands off the west Africa near Cameroun
Falkland Islands- S. AMERICA- british dependancy off the coast of Argentina
Gaza Strip ASIA/Middle East, disputidly part of Israel
Georgia- ASIA- SW-Asia, on the coast of the Black Sea near Iran
Guernsey- EUROPE- closer to France but part of the United Kingdom
Man, Isle- EUROPE- Isle off England, part of the United Kingdom
Reunion- AFRICA- indepentant & UN member near Madagascar
Somalia- AFRICA- indepentant & UN member neighbouring Kenya
St. Kitts and Nevis- CARIBBEAN- neighbouring Antigua & Barbuda
Svalbard- EUROPE- Island part of Norway
West Bank ASIA/Middle East like Gaza Strip
The others will need some time and good contemplation, also referances...

St. Kitts and Nevis CARIBBEAN Independant, neighbouring Antigua
St. Pierre and Miquelon N.AMERICA off the coast of Newfoundland
Svalbard EUROPE Norwegian island

Tuvalu OCEANIA between Hawaii & Australia, dot "tv" websites
Virgin Islands CARIBBEAN
Wake Island OCEANIA near Northern Mariana Islands
Wallis and Futuna OCEANIA between Hawaii and New Zealand
West Bank ASIA (Middle East) like Gaza Strip
Relating the islands to oceans is easy but how do we categorize them under Continents/Global Regions? Certainly Staff will need to create an "Oceania" group, or (like most sources do) add it to Australia. Central America /really on the North American continent and likwise the Caribbean often seperated, also the Middle East (part of Asia)
There are 4 so hard and disputed places:
1) British Indian Ocean Territory - an extention of India, lies on the same ridge as the Comoros, therefore geologicaly not Africa.
2) Christmas Island - ASIA? Offen thought to be in the Pacific, Australian governed but near Java, geologically part of Australia.
3) French Southern and Antarctic Land - most of the islands are equidistant between Africa, Antarctica, and Australia but Antarctic is the geologists choice and the claimed territory/sector on Antarctica is the larger part
4) South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands - nearer to Antarctica but obviosly an extention (geologically and commercially) of the southern tip of South America!
That was fun! I now know where some postage-stamps come from... [ This Message was edited by: rangutan on 2005-05-05 20:06 ] --- Rudolf "Rangutan" Graspointner

Actually, I had a problem trying to write something about St. Louis, Missouri in the Destinations area. The search did not recognize the name and told me that there is no such place.
