Travel guide to Albi

Albi, the principal city of the Tarn Departement, has at least four claims to fame. One that may sound silly but is very important to vegetarians [including vegans] is that it has an imaginative vegetarian reataurant. [see travel tip on le Tournesol.]
The next two are based on past inhabitants. Lapérouse, the explorer, lived in Albi and there is a museum to its other famous citizen, Toulouse-Lautrec
that can be warmly recommended to anybody visiting the area or passing through en route to the Pyrenees.
The museum is adjacent to the last [but not least] of the four, the Cathedrale de Sainte-Cecille. Built during the Gothic period, it resembles a fortress more than a typical cathedral from the outside, whilst inside it is quite extravagantly ornate. This can be loved or hated but it well deserves to be seen.
