Inside the Frauenkirche

Dresden (approx. 500,000 inh.) is Germany's easternmost big city and a jewel of culture and history.

Almost a century ago the last king Friedrich August III resigned at the capital of the former kingdom of Saxonia.

During the 2nd World War, February 1945, the city was bombed and nearly completely destroyed.

A trip to “Elbsandsteingebirge” – can be made with historical paddle steamboats on the river Elbe, upstream, the bizarre rock formations of the Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland are undeniably areas of outstanding natural beauty, while the Saxon Wine Road spreads out invitingly downstream towards Meissen.
