Sea stack at Downpatrick Head's by horourke

Killala - Ireland This is reputed to have been sparated from the land side clifs in a miracle worked by Saint Patrick patron of Ireland. An ogre had been bothering the saint's meditation and fasting. The saint banished the creature to this isolated rock. A more probable explanation is a record in the anals of a major rock collapse in this general area (tantalisingly not pinpointed to this spot in 1333 a.d.)
