Rajputana Holiday Makers
This tour operator provided one of the very best guides we had during our 16 days in India. The guide, Jyotendra Gaur, added some wonderful sites to our itinerary - Saas Bahu was a favorite! - and spent a full 10 hours with us. He was one of the few guides we had during our stay who was fully fluent. Many spoke well enough to describe what we were seeing but were at a loss when answering questions. It is no coincidence that Udaipur was my favorite city in India. We left wishing we had planned more time to spend there. In addition, the hotel transfers were handled expertly. more

Rajdarshan Hotel
This lovely hotel sits on Lake Swaroop Sagar, the smallest of Udiapur's 3 lakes. It rests right within the walls of the old city, making it convenient for shopping bazaars and local restaurants. It includes a bar & restaurant with excellent food. Internet service is provided on site with very reasonable rates. The hotel has a nice pool- a necessity in 40c degree weather! Ask for a lake view room - you can watch the vendors and cows crossing the bridge morning and night. more
Jagat Niwas Palace
The best quality of the hotel is its two level terrace overlooking the lake. The menu is comprehensive, the dishes are yummy and beer is cold. Service is patchy, but friendly. In the evenings, the candles lit at the tables and the sunset over the lake make up for any sloppy service, though. more
Jagat Niwas Palace Hotel
Some of the rooms were better than others. I stayed at room number 129 at 1,250 rupees plus a luxury tax (1) of 100 rupees, which came together at 1,350 rupees (€25), which was not too bad after all. The room was large although there was no view. more
