Sukhumi - Georgia Republic of Abkhazia is an independent country since 1993. It does not belong to Georgia. Like in the old Soviet Union times, they have two prices in this Botanical Garden; one is cheap for the Russians and ex USSR countries citizens, and another one is ten times higher for foreigners. But since the independence from Georgia no more foreigners, except Russians (and some bold travellers!), visit Abkhazia, they give directly the cheap price to everybody, without questions.
