Gustavia - Guadeloupe, Guadeloupe The beaches of Saint Martin are crowded with tourists, but in St Barths the tourists were few and far between. Besides there was a luxurious hotel, but I did not sleep there. Instead I slept next door, on the sand of the beach.

Showers were on the same beach, and for breakfast I climbed the coconut trees nearby to cut one of them, drink its juice and then eat the pulp inside. Really, for me that was paradise. I did not envy the customers sleeping in the hotel. mistybleu - Jul, 23 2008 09:07pm What an idyllic setting, I could spend a few hours just lapping up the sun here. here-i-come - Jul, 24 2008 12:07am This is simply captivating and rejuvenating that nostalgia I once had in my early teens... marathon nights with warm fires on the shore and BBQ weekends on the same spot by the beach with fresh plucked coconuts to quench my thirst... but no direct sun now for me... the parasol has to be extremely large to lay under the scorching sun. A 5* for the good feeling enacted!!!
