Lake Nakuru National Park |

This lovely and relatively tiny park is easily reached from Nairobi, so even if you only spend a couple of days in Kenya you have time visit it.
There are two millions of pink flamingos, 150 giraffes, zebras, monkeys and many other animals, apart from some white and black rhinos.
I visited Lake Nakuru Natural Park quite by chance. I was hitchhiking in my way overland to Ethiopia when a couple of gently Dutch picked me up in their land rover and invited me to enter the Nakuru Park with them. I gladly accepted.
In general you can hitchhike in the entry of the National Parks; there is always somebody who will appreciate your company and will invite you to board his jeep.
I few weeks earlier in that same journey I had tried to climb the Kilimanjaro Mountain by myself, but just at about 300 metres to attain the summit there was a control, could not avoid it, and was compelled to back down with grief to Moshi, in Tanzania.
