Only in this small theatre, that in the past was a merchant club, close to the Pushkin Square, you can watch the wonderful and historical performance “Junonas i Avos”, a kind of opera rock, about once a month.
Junonas I Avos were the name of the two ships of a Russian traveller and diplomatic (Nikolai Rezanov) who went to San Francisco, California, to establish commercial relations with the Spanish authorities. In the meantime he fell in love with the Governor beautiful young daughter, Conchita, and both planed their wedding after his following travel to Saint Petersburg.
Unfortunately, he died when crossing the River Yenisey. Conchita faithfully waited for his return, and kept waiting… during 35 years! She never knew of his death. Finally she entered a monastery and became nun.
