I went to Salzburg for a weekend. I saw a couple of photographs from the city in one of the in-flight magazines of one of the airlines. It might actually have been Ryanair's, I am not sure. So, I decided to make some time and go to see the place. When I arrived, I could not believe that I had waited this long to see it. It was such a beautiful place, full of magnificent architecture, and the Festung Hohensalzburg fortress that dominated the skyline dazzled me enormously. I was also lucky to be a witness to a music street festival, which promoted new talents of this musical city. But I was lucky with weather. On Saturday, weather was mixed, sunshine mixed with light showers and dark clouds, but Sunday was absolutely glorious. Uninterrupted sunshine for some 18 hours! The goodness of weather and the existence of the fort's hill enabled me to take a few shots of the scenery beyond Salzburg and capture the majestic Alps, still boasting snow on their slopes.
