The Panda Card, often referred as the Golden Panda Card is a discount card for 11 sites in and around Chengdu, including the Giant Panda Breeding Centre. It cost 1 yuan and gives free access to the sites. It can be obtained from supermarkets in Chengdu and is available on one passport one card only. It has to be activated before use. It is of a size of credit card, it has magnetic strip and is swiped at the entry gates to the attractions to confirm its validity and the user's name. Sometimes an ID can be requested to confirm the legitimacy of the user.
