The church was built below ground, since during Ottoman times was illegal for a church to be taller than a mosque. It boasts an iconostais 10 m wide and 6m high, beautifully carved in the early 19th century. Entrance fee 100 MKD (combined ticket to the church and the Tomb and Museum of Goce Dolcev - national hero).
