You should learn something from our "meeting", because I did: it wasn't even about my nationality, I was standing for what is right! Significant things happened today, and emotions are high right now... Everyone, please remember, this is just a message board, and it is often difficult to understand all the nuances in communication, because we have only written words, and in many cases the words are in a language which is not even the primary one for the speaker or reader. It is very easy in such cases for misunderstandings to occur, offense to be taken, and all of this muddle to rapidly multiply into something that hurts people's feelings. Like Anne Frank, "Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart." All people, everywhere. Let's remember that people are not their governments. Nearly half of all Americans that voted did not vote for the current administration, and according to recent polls, many who formerly supported war are now better informed and changing their minds. Is it fair to wish ill upon all a country's people because of the acts of a select few in powerful positions? Even though you are suffering, don't let yourself be consumed by hate. Anne Frank was also an innocent who suffered terrible hardships, yet still she focused on the positive. In some of her darkest days, she was still able to write, "Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!" May I suggest we strive to put our arguments aside, and try to find common ground, instead? Wonderer You misunderstood my short response. I meant that this was not the right place for silly nationalistic comments but that it would be a pity if your question were to lead to just the sort of thing it has led to. I still think that it's a pity it didn't stop there but I must admit I had no very high hopes. If you look through the vast majority of things on the site, you will find that they are devoid of all the most offensive 'isms.' Just to clear a couple of thngs up, I am not "from the site"... I am a volunteer who moderates this forum, and an enthusiastic contributor to this site, nothing more. If you want to speak directly to a "person in charge" you can write to him directly from here: http://www.globosapiens.net/contact.html The above link works even if you are a totally new member with no points at all. Miight I suggest in the future if you want to engage in a useful discussion, it is better to avoid namecalling... it will make it easier for others to hear what you are trying to say. I believe you rushed to judgement about the comment that upset you... you took very seriously a comment which may very well have been a joke, a wry sarcasm, an "off the cuff" remark or something else. Instead of seeking common ground and understanding, it seems your frustration and anger has led to your intentionally making the very types of comments you profess to deplore: "create problems insulting other nationalities" Then you took it one step further, and directed your insults at individual members, who are only trying to help and understand you. It may be that you are too upset right now to hear the compassion and desire for connection that is being directed your way. In my experience this site is filled with good folks who care. Please do contact site management, I'm sure he can help you with whatever you choose to do. We created a mixed culture mosaic and keep it over 6 centuries, you cant see this culture mosaic in European countries that were belonged to Ottoman Empire in the history, we are warm people but also mad for the unfriendly kinds...
