Egypt part 2

Posted: 2004-07-02 11:43 AM
We stayed in Siwa in: Hotel Alexander the Great.

As guidebook I used; the Rough Guides: Egypt.

Twoor three days in Siwa are enough to see everything. We did not go to Baharryyia oasis because there was no public transport. We could hire a car and driver but the price was ridiculously high, can't remember exactly how much.

You need no special documents for Siwa.

If you need more info just let me know.
Enjoy your trip.

Egypt part 1

Hi Paola,
I sent this meaasge in return to your email to me but it bounced. So isend it in your guest book in several messages because it is too long.

This is a beautiful trip. We went by public transport and that went very well. In Cairo we stayed in Mayfair Hotel, 9 Sharia Aziz Osman, Zamelek.

In Alexandria we stayed in Hotel Union no 164 in 26th July Street. It's on the fifth floor. It is a side street from the corniche.

In Mersah Matruh we stayed in an appartment hotel Noras on the Corniche.

In the summer season both Alexandria and Mersah Matruh are very crowded with Egyptians who stay the summer months in the hotesl etc. So if you travel in June, July August it may be wise to book a room in advance.
