What, exactly, are they trying to control Petra?

pesu - Jun, 04 2010 02:06pm
Tony, I don't have a clue. ;-) We watched how a delivery man had to open everything at his car and they also checked its bottom by mirrors...

jacko1 - Jun, 04 2010 02:06pm
I see Petra, exploding bread & lethal sausages are a threat to security:-)

krisek - Jun, 04 2010 02:06pm
Tony, Petra - normally, there are checks for explosives, which can be hidden in cars. This is now a standard procedure for areas surrounding US embassies around the world, where an embassy building is particularly exposed to (not so much in London, but an entire road used to be closed in Berlin for example). Embassies of other countries sometimes require similar checks.

jacko1 - Jun, 04 2010 02:06pm
I understand Krys but it has become a sad world!

krisek - Jun, 04 2010 04:06pm
Tony, yeah - you are so right! It was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, but I guess I am not yet good in these semantics. Have we become too cautious or have we allowed the terrorists to spin out of control?

pesu - Jun, 04 2010 04:06pm
Tony, Krys - think the weird thing is that all those security checks can't give any security at all...

hieronyma - Jun, 06 2010 02:06am
Tony, Krys, Petra,
I think we start to be too anxious. We will not speak to one another anymore and be friendly with foreigners. That will increase aggression and destroy our trust in our fellow citizens. What will become of our journeys? Because when you travel you find friendship and hospitality, although you are told not to trust
Hieronyma.

Christl, I don't think that the dangers we face have increased at all, just our perception of them, the fear is far greater than the fact, Globies prove evey day that travellers will continue to travel, promoting friendships all over the world.

hieronyma - Jun, 06 2010 05:06am
Tony, you are right. It is my impreswsion too. It seems that I made my opinion not clear enough.
Christl

jacko1 - Jun, 06 2010 07:06am
Christl, you were quite clear, I just felt that I had to add a little to your comment.

hieronyma - Jun, 06 2010 09:06am
Thank you, I like to be talked to. Christl

jacko1 - Jun, 06 2010 03:06pm
Then I am certainly your man Christl. I like to talk, to quote from Winston Churchill " jaw jaw, not war war" Tony.

Sadly there will always be extremism so some control is essential.

Before I read this was about a diplomatic zone, I thought Prague was full into World Cup fever!
