Hi Kris
Thanks for the kind words. While I have done quite a bit of east and South Africa, I have not dared to go to India - a bit daunting to somone who has read such a lot of the fascinating place that India is....
I thought I was being brave tackling Egypt -though only the Sinai .
I will have to see how things pan out in the future - who knows where any of us will end up??

Hey Kris...

thanks for your message! Wow, I saw your picture from the south, it looks really exciting... I went once arround Rajastan, Varansi and finally spending the Millenium Party in Delhi with friends. the second time, we came only for the trekking. Its a wonderful country with so many faces... I should become a travel guide, and live in India.
Right now, I am still thinking about a destination for this year, but I am not sure yet, depends also on the season to go... will see, but if I am coming to India, to the south I will give you a note and we meet for a tea or two...

Cheers Ralph

Hi Krishna
Thanks for the comment and grading. Can you remember which way you went up - I'm guessing at the Tourist Route as your memory is of a long drag. It's the obvious way for the first time but it's a shame that it's the only route a lot of people see, when all the most interesting parts of that chain are hidden from them.
Cheers, David
