Yep I concur with Bryan, great writing style. Keep up the good work, although it might not be so easy if you have too many of those 10p beers !

greetings from auckland

hi guys
sounds like fun in china. try the labrador, i hear its exellent rare. been in auckland now for a day, strange to be in civilisation again after the quiet slow pace of tonga. went up the skytower today, had lunch in the orbit revolving restaurant which was nice. for charina. i get really bad vertigo it would appear. not impressed by the glass floors. they stuffed up our order so we got free desert & sides which went some way to making me feel less green.
anyway, talking of going green, we are off to possibly the worlds longest left hander at raglan tomorrow for more surf action! take care

Brilliant diarist!

Yocksan,
You are the greatest travel diarist of all time. Paul Theroux is forgotten; you have taken his place. I have never laughed so much as when I read your latest missive. "unidentified meals" - sensational!!
Thank you for cheering a dull office-locked day.

howdy!
just thought we would let y ou know that we are off now- spent 2 weeks of laidback chilling out time on tropical beaches, been for a surf at a spot called boulders- almost bought it. unbelievable power comes off the reef break and dumps onto cliffs! both of us have loads of mossie bites and have seen a whale, blowholes and enough coconuts and bananas to last a life time! not been very good at updating our globo page as it is very expensive email & we have been horizontal topping up the tans most of the time. love to you both-

AH HAH.. (said in true Alan partridge style)

Hey Guys,

Great to hear you’re having a good time. You seem to have done so much and you’ve only just arrived. Can’t wait to see some of the pics when you get them uploaded.

Your time seems to have been very similar to mine over the last few weeks however (had to get that however in). I too had a terrible journey on a sweaty bus the other day, no air con, BO’d bodies around me, rain coming down outside like a monsoon children screaming and teenagers swearing at the back and all chipping in to get their next bit of hash and that was only on the way to work .

Then a walk round my our old stomping ground (best not to say any place names) and just like you in Bundi I was surrounded by 60 or so kids, some on stolen motorbikes, chatting to me as they sucked on a large doob. Shouting swearing, trying to steal my gear… oh it was a great laugh, you missed a great afternoon out.

Then back on the bus journey from hell into town where I went for some food.. Now I don’t want to stead

Buses ? no thanks

Enjoyed the latest report, almost like being there ! I sympathise on the bus front, I was moaning enough on a short bus trip from Morningside to Princes Street the other day, so wouldn't relish a long distance journey with an Indian driver who no doubt drives even more jerkily than the average Edinburgher bus pilot, hard as that is to believe !

If you spot any more Hollywood film stars be sure to hassle them for backing for Pseudostars the movie. I see themightypeej is being mischievous as usual, cheeky bald monkey, danger, danger as an Indian kid would say !

Top stuff

Good chat, Y!
Hope you enjoy the Taj Mahal. They do an excellent Chicken Tikka Masala there (joking). Don't eat anything there. Agra is a top place for food poisoning and prepare yourself for some stereotypical visions of the third world when you get to the edge of the Taj. It is the original seething mass of humanity.
have fun

Good noise

Posted: 2004-10-14 03:25 AM
Love your noise, Yocksan. Good diary. You missed Peter's leaving do which was totally dull without you. Just drinking and shouting and neverending searches for taxis. Not strictly true, of course: naturally that search did end or we'd still be walking around Edinburgh, our eyes focussed on the elusive yellow light. But it did take an extraordinary length of time. Anyway: drivel on. Have fun, keep your eyes open.
Cheers pal & hi to L

Jodhpur

Dinna listen to the mighty peej he's just jealous that you are seeing all sortsa exotic locations, while he has to drive an unreliable heap of Swedish junk along the M8 to Glasgow daily.

It must be a bit weird being in places like Jodhpur which have names that we associate with something quite different, interesting though. Where are you now ?

I do concur with TMP about this website though, when I logged in it forced me to "finish" my registration which seems to have changed a lot of my details, something weird going on woth cookies I guess
