Previosly called 'Cape of Storms' many imigrants found a home in this Mediterannean-like climate and the vast cultural highlights makes this place a jewel in the world. Cape Town is considered to be (together with Rio and Sydney) one of the most picturesque harbour-cities of the world. Turning point of the historic "Cape-Sea-Route to India before the Suez Canal was built is still a major harbour and the beaches very famous.
Not far inland, this "cape" provides the vineyards of famous international wines and other major fruit producing and also live-stock farms feeding the WHOLE world, well partially!
