I met a lady at the beach whom after some discussion described how well decorated, old and beautiful this hotel is. She stays here and at the same beach every summer! I might never know but if its old it is (apparently named/related to the the original Mr. Galvez whom Galveston was named after) i'm sure its a very good place to stay and so took a stroll across to see it, only in the "correct" beach gear! My impression of the lobby and adjacent rooms is remarkable, decorations and "old stuff" as expected and makes it wonderful, location to rest is great, will perhaps check in here next time? Great and friendly staff and guests beyond expectations!!!!
