Pergamon Museum - Pergamon Altar to Zeus's by siffer

Berlin - Germany, Berlin The total length of the famous frieze exceeds 370 feet depicting the war of the gods and the giants. There are multiple groupings of characters created by different workshops, some with the names of the sculptors included in the margins. It documents the defeat of the children of earth mother Ge by the gods of Olympus. The two most famous sections are Zeus subduing three giants at one time and, pictured, Athena grabbing Alkyoneos by the hair before killing him.
