Hotel Goldener Schlüssel (2**)
Hotel Goldener Schlüssel is right in the old centre, almost next to the old Clock Tower. Very spacious room with solid furniture, slightly old fashioned and worn but very charming. Big bathroom with shower, hairdryer and washbasin, wall tiles in darkish brown 1970s style. Tiny television, but other rooms had larger one.
The rooms at the back are very quiet, but those in front are not noisy either because the street is free of cars (no cars allowed in Bern city centre). The street itself is very interesting with lots of antique shops.

Best coffee in town.... it's their slogan and it's true but not only coffee but also drinks, paninis etc....
