It is my goal to visit most of the major cities in the United States. I must say that out of the cities that I have visited so far Chicago is my favorite.
|
I love the hustle and bustle of a big city being from New York and Chicago gave me that big city feel but it still had a small town quietness to it. I love walking down the magnificent mile and seeing all of the shops and the native chicagoins going about their daily routines. The architecture in the city was beautiful with the mix of modern and more classical looking buildings. The city is so alive and one thing that I loved was that it is a very walkable city even at night I felt safe enough to walk around.

Favourite spots: |
I loved going to Navy Pier which had a amusement park like atmosphere. They had clowns and magicians in addition to restaurants and boat tours leaving from the docks there. The Taste of Chicago was also a lot fo fun. It was a chance to taste food from some of the best restaurants in Chicago. I sampled everything from Italian to Thai food and everything was excellent. The Chicago River was also something that I found in Chicago that I loved. It is very different from New York where we have rivers but none of them run through the actual city.

What's really great: |
Millineum Park with its wonderful sculptures is a great place to go and relax. Magnificent Mile with all of the great stores is a great place to go shopping or just to soak up the energy of the city.

I agree with David's comments. Chicago is a wonderful city with so many places to see and things to do. Please help others by giving more information in each section and by including pictures.

Don't forget that a lot of readers have never been to Chicago. I suggest you always try to think of a single nice person who knows only what you tell him/her. I just feel you have so much more to tell us! |
