Last week we headed out to the free state from J'burg to get a relaxing weekend. We spend a wonderful time near Clarens. Please read below for more details.
So there we were on the road to the wide open land of the free state and after a few hours drive we arrived in Clarens, a lovely artistic town with lots of charm and coze places. We chose to drive on a bit as we wanted to enjoy the nature and landed up in a place called Caledon Gardens (see http://www.caledonga-rdens.com ). Mike and Sharon, our hosts, treated us to a lovely meal andf we enjoyed the fine food and relaxing atmosphere. This place is really onme of the best kep secrets but boy did we have good time. Next day we headed out to Lesotho and enjoyed the real african culture. We also had a wonderful hike into the nature there. All in all a wonderful weekend and time well spend to relax.

Not a report about the historical town of Clarence at all (should rather be uploaded as a "travel tip". This otherwise just advertising www.caledongardens.com
