We agreed to ferry our parents caravan from home to somewhere around a 1 days drive from home. It ended up being Dillingebruck, near Echternach. We spent a few nights in the camper, waiting for our parents to arrive. This was our way to be out of the country for a few days this year.
But, I probably will not do it again... towing a caravan/trailer to a camping somewhere in Luxembourg. This has nothing to do with camping... We spend some hours wandering around in Echternach and the nearby villages.
I've got to say Echternach is quite a nice town to go and spend some time in. It has museums and a typical townsquare area, with coblestones and all.
Favourite spots:
The river, in a kanu... It was a bit expensive, but you get a good 2 hours of fun with that. There are some mild currents to make it more interesting, but nothing a standard tourist couldn't do.
What's really great:
Well... off course there is the river, the lovely towns and cities nearby, plus the change of hopping over to at least three of the neighbouring countries to have a look. Since the Euro even getting your shopping done has become easier here.
Sights:
The general countryside is just beautifull...
Accommodations:
We stayed at Raststatte / camping Dillingebruck, just on the German side of the river. But there are scores of other accomodation around here from dormatories to X star hotels...
