My flight itinery was to fly from Gatwich to Madrid and then three hours after arriving to fly on to Lima Peru and arriving at 7am, leaving all day to find a Hotel
On arrival at Madrid i was met by an Air Comet rep who informed me that my onward flight to Lima had been cancelled. The flight to Lima would be leaving at 2pm the next day 15 hours after it should have. I was given a voucher for a local Hotel and was taken there by bus. On arrivel at the 4 star Auditorium Madrid Hotel I was given an evening meal with complimentry wine and next morning served breakfast.
Favourite spots:
The hotel was indeed a 4 star Hotel, with a capacity of 7,000. My room was very nice, with a king size bed and the usual fittings. The corridors were full of antique furniture and paintings and the bar had a man playing the piano. There was a car in the bar that looked like it had been in an accident.
What's really great:
Air Comet picking up the bill for the room, evening meal, wine and breakfast
Accommodations:
The food was very good and the antiques were very interesting, well worth the stay, as it was free
