Bariloche for backpackers

Theres nothing better than spending your holiday trekking and camping with many fun people, keeping on the move, sleeping under the stars, just being out in the wilds... Is there?

Sense the immensity of open spaces, the magnitude of unreachable heights, the clear transparency of skies, the amazing nature, and the incredible shades of colours. Travelling Patagonia you ll be able to experience the pleasures of the natural world.

Favourite spots:
Cerro Tronador
Cerro Tronador
At the Cerro Tronador in Bariloche, Rio Negro the view is awesome!! ...as is practically everything in Bariloche (truly gorgeous place). the special feature here is that this mountain makes a sound of thunder, hence its name Tronador (= que truena). Address:Cerro Tronador in Bariloche, Rio Negro

What's really great:
Going up from the Cerro Lopez Mallin and refugio to the peak called
Going up from the Cerro Lopez Mallin and refugio to the peak called "Pico turista"
Hiking Bariloche is the best way to see everything Among other mountains in Bariloche, this is a favourite... Trekking up to Laguna Ilon (lake Ilon) you can see the Tronador mountain towering behind you. Both mountains are fascinating and worth hiking. Bear in mind that going up to Laguna Ilon is quite hard (as it is really very steep), but it s also a rather short way. enjoy it!! Address:Cerro Tronador in Bariloche, Rio Negro

Sights:
Cerro Catedral, Cerro Campanario, Cerro Otto...

Restaurants:
Fondue in winter... or a local dish instead

I find La Marmite to be the warmest, most beautiful restaurant i ve been to when in Bariloche, it is reminiscent of Swiss places, and it is lovely. Not to mention the high quality of the food.

Favorite Dish:Definitely the cheese fondue followed by a meat fondue and for dessert... a chocolate fondue!!!!! well i was hungry!!! and they re delicious!

Prices:less than US$10

A Great Experience.

Address:
Mitre (street) 329 Its located on a main street in Bariloche... ask anyone, they ll tell you!!

Phone:(02944) 423685

Also try the delicious icecream parlour and warm tea house called: Abuela Goye

The original flavours of icecream here cant be found anywhere else in Argentina, it is a really unique place worth visiting. if you don t you ll certainly regret it...

Try frutas del bosque and frambuesa. I found them unbelievably tasty...
