Last weekend I went to Mt. Takao, just outside of Tokyo. I loved the fact that it is an "unspoiled" forest, it has chair lifts, and the god of the mountain is Tengu, a fascinating guy who helps out hikers.
The souvenier shopping was just like everywhere else in Japan except for the Tengu stuff.
