I am 18 months into a 2+ Year round the world trip and have only just discovered online travel logs :o( so far i have been to HongKong-Sydney up the east coast of Australia on the Oz Experience (or F**k truck as it is more widely known) visiting the party places like the beautiful Byron bay, surfers paradise Brisibane, the stunningly beautiful Fraser island and the Whitsunday islands for a 3 day sailing cruise as i'm sure like most backpackers on this path. My best time was spent at a remote cattle station in NSW called Nundle. Where the staff put on events such as sheep shearing, mechanical bull riding, table dancing and cross dressing, i lovely female i made indeed. I believe travelling is best experienced in stark contrasts and culture shocks, and by the end of my 3 months on the east coast i ended up in Cairns and its beauty was not registering, too much input was creating the need to stop and rest in a moderate environment. Melbourne was the choice to stop and work for 6 months! lovely city with great places to eat/drink and basically get lashed and come down off the high i'd been on during the east coast trip.
