Bradford Curry Guide
This is not your usual restaurant tip but then Bradford isn't ordinary either. It is widely regarded as the Curry Capital of England and the curry gide was formed by a bunch of computer/curry enthusiasts to do and receive regular reviews of all the restaurants.
If you are planning a trip to Yorkshire, try to include at least one meal at a good curry restaurant in Bradford and start with this guide to find it. more
Bradford Circle for Foreign Languages
This is not so very secret. Tha Spanish section that I attend is on Mondays and French, German and Italian all have their own designated evening of the week.
Visitors, especially native speakers of the languages, are always made welcome free of charge and anyway a year's membership only costs £10 and entitles you to attend all sections.
This circle, owning its own premises and obtaining most of its funds from rent and bequests, is probably unique in England. more

Peace Museum
The rating is meaningless here as I've yet to go but it's high in my mind!
I like the idea of a Peace Museum and apparently this is the only example in the UK. [URLs for peace museums in other countries are given in the website].
I am happy to notice that some so-called War Museums are more like anti-war museums these days, more concerned with the horrors of war than with glory. more
Bolling Hall Museum
!7th century building incongruously sited on Bradford Ring Road. No charge. Fine collestion of old furniture and great stained glass windows. more
Museum of Colour
The Society of Dyers and Colourists owns this museum and claims it as the only one in the UK that is devoted to the study of colour.
It's particularly good for children and should 'open their eyes' a bit.
Not large but fascinating. more
