I've been thinking about taking a trip out to the Alps in February, mainly to snowbaord and iceclimb, but I wanted to throw in a small backpacking trip as well. I understand that the trails in the high Alps will be closed for the season but I wonder if I head north or south into Italy or Germany, will I be able to find any good trails at that time of year. Any info on the area, about anything would be helpful. Thanks.
