... I prefere cheaper air-fares than fancy meals and over enthusiastic service on flights. I always carry some nuts or biscuits as reserve anway. Catering & service once made up 30% of airline costs!

Lyla, unless you always travelled first or business class a meal on a plane has NEVER been a proper meal :- (

RR in Canada they had to serve a proper meal if you were flying over 3 hours. This is what you get now.
