Open Air Museum of Northern England |

|
The museum isn't actually in Chester-le-Street but occupies a large site a few miles away, reached by the A693 from J63 of the A1[M].
It's the Open Air Museum of Northern England and concentrates on the 19th and early 20th century, claiming to be a working, living experience of how life was lived, rather than an ordinary museum.
Transport and coal mining are the chief features of life on display and there is the old farm and the manor house.
You might consider it should be in the top price bracket but there's a lot to see and, time for money, I htink it's fair as stated.
