The 3 thumbs is a tribute to one of the two high mountains in the UK which can be visited by some of the less able. There's still a short but steep rise from the summit station, a horrendous place, to the very top but, even for those who can get no farther, it's the highest they are likely to get a view [south of Scotland.]
