Hi Martin and everyone on board!

Sorry, but I don’t want to be paid for my contributions at all, Martin, to tell you frankly. Further more I’m here, as you, and everyone else, only trying to give some advises to Andy, and it is only his decision, how and what to do better with this site.

Yes, I knew before joining the site that the site is free, UNLESS IF YOU WANT TO BECOME A PREMIUM MEMBER, and without any hesitation I had paid for my premium membership, I don’t really care, that many community members here are Free, to tell you from my heart, what I do care is if you a member of such a great travel community, than you have to participate in it as a member, but not only reading and sending fee postcards!

I went through some members yesterday, and find out that some of their images has been visited over 200 times each, and non-one of them had been rated. That's why I call this members:"fee bread eaters" What would you say about this? I'm raising this question(problem) the second time allready.

1./spaceout-page26

2./daniserralta- start-page10

3./downundergal-start-page8

4./marianne-start-page10

And many,many others…………..

I’m encouraging everyone here and many others, to go through everyone’s accounts, and start on their spare, time rating these images.

Your statement:” you love to get paid for your contribution to the community” sounds as a kind of an insult to me to tell you the truth.

There is everyone’s dilemma; -what to do with inactive members here. And if you would read

carefully, what I was trying to propose, you probably would understand it better.

I was saying: “but I’m asking myself and everybody else a question: did we all signed, or check mark some terms, stating that we really have to contribute when joining to the community? The answer is:”NO”. Legally these accounts cannot be terminated; -Andreas and all of us will suffer. So how to deal with this problem LEGALLY? In my opinion only to make this as a trial site for say 2 month then payment membership option has to be offered (many sites on the net already practicing this).“

Here, yes I’m really proposing paid membership to every member (maybe I’m wrong),but it will definatly resolve Andy’s marketing solutions.

Please, don’t make swift judgments, Martin, about someone you don’t really know. And I'm not offering so called rude solutions,as you are stating. This is some kind of your wrong imagination,or some thing else.........

Thanks for reading

Boris

... great! A community wouldn't be without discussion!

I agree with most of the suggestions. Lets not hurry without thought and discussion about change. Relax, GLOBO is fantastic as it is now, don't make too many changes, active members (~2-5%) will always be here soon to challenge our needs automatically as they grow! Wait out I say...

Hi Boris

Im sorry that my latest post did provoke such strong feelings in you.

I never intended to insult you. Please accecpt my appology for it.

About the unrated pictures of old time members, look at this thread:

http://www.globosapiens.net/topic-hidden-gems_47_1103_0000.html

If Andy terminated all the accounts of non performing members (the ones with the same member since and last log in date) most of them wouldn't recognise because they never ever came back. So this would not be a problem. But they add to the general number of members and thats what's important!

You are speaking about legal problems in your post... There are some cultural differences that we have here. (You know American and European perspective) If Andy terminated a free membership because of a member non performing what should the ex member do. Take Andy to court? On what: he didn't pay anything, he didn't post anything, he didn't loose anything... Moreover if he would really be interested in the page he could always rejoin!

Let me quote Andy on this:

There are some points mortimer mentioned that are absolutly right. For example we need more members to get into newspapers and to atract other new members and investors.

The other other thing is, they do not have to contribute, in fact in some cases I am even happy that they do not since not everybody has the abbility to post in such high standards which I would like to see this community go to.

If they send postcards, fine, excellent. This is the idea. They generate extra visitors and your travel pages get visited extra to. The postcards are actually a perfect marketing instrument free of charge.

End quote

At the moment our argument is mostly in the direction of terminating some members accounts because they are not performing. Let's end this part ot the discussion here, let's agree that we do not have the same views on these.

This discussion is going down on a negative spiral which is not the way I tried to start it with my question:

How can we get the members to be more active?

(I did not ask: How can we get rid of unactive members? see the difference?)

I would be happy to keep on discussing these more interesting things.

Once again, Boris, I never thought to insult you!

Martin
