yes Mortimer, something like this. A gesture you are proud to get from a fellow member, a sign of praise or a sign of that you have a friend here and he made you a compliment and shows in the same time that he likes you and what you are doing. In German I might have suggested "stupsen" , which is nice but lacks the meaning of praise. Maybe we could invent a word that is inbetween and connect it?

What about 'send a smile'?
The icon for it suggests itself and it shows what a friendly bunch we are here on globo. It's internationally recognized and has no double meaning.

I like both Sabine's suggestions and you owuld do well to accept either. --- Grieve not for that which you cannot do but rejoice in that which you can.

I like both the 'high-5' and 'thumbs up'; either seems appropriate.

Namaste seems to have entered the English language as a word of established usage. It has that connotation of deeply peaceful calming joined hands greeting to bring about a state of recollection?

I found two other expressions:
hear hear
or
Cheer
but I really think a thumbs up a smile or a high five are better known and used and are also perfect for a symbol. --- Today is the first day of the rest of your life, enjoy it!
