Hi Andy
I just found a bug in the travel tips...
I uploaded a new entry.
I had to reedit it. And clicked on edit data.
GLOBO created a second entry of the same place....

Hi Martin,
I just tried to reproduce the error, but it was working fine for me.
Could you please try to reproduce the error and then tell me which button you clicked, and which data you have changed.
Best regards
andy

Hi everybody,
I saw that there are a couple of suggestions inside this topic. So far I did not find the time to look into it, but I definatelly will this weekend. Thank you for your suggestions.
For those who are interested into taking a sneak preview on the upcomming travel tip listings, please feel free to go for a test ride:

Please do not post this link anywhere, as it is not public so far.
Your constructive feedback is appreciated.

Hi Andy
Travel Tip Schlegelhof
I am on the site where all the travel tips are listed underneath each other
I click on the T button for Schlegelhof
I go to the new edit page
I try to safe and get the error message that the phone number is incorrect.
Then I get another (old) edit screen where I the type and the email and website information is lost as is the rating and the price range.
When I retipe all the information and safe it a new travel tip is created.

Hi Andy,
New travel tips look good look. Verified means that there is a website?
Price is indicated by budget, moderate etc. Would it be possible to fill in the true price in local currency and in euros plus the date when this was paid. Maybe you could have a currency converter on the website. e.g. oanda.com
Some people may have different ideas about budget and moderate etc prices.

Marianne,
I like your suggestion, but in a slightly different manner. Perhaps the prices could be listed in a range, for example:
Under $20
$20 - $35
$35 - $50
$50 - $70
Over $70
As I stated before, the only difficulty that I have with verifying the travel tips by using websites is that many of the restaurants and other places that I go when I travel have no websites, and therefore could never be verified. I do use current addresses and telephone numbers, though.

Hi Andy.
Marianne has suggested very good idea about currency converter and also if you don’t mind ,I would like to propose a weather link on the site as well .
How do you think about this?
About the price,I don’t really know because, lets say hotel price could fluctuate dramatically depending on the accommodation it self (single room is higher then double room, and triple room is basically lower then double room), also it could depend on the view –street view, park view, ocean vew, ocean front.
Hotel room rate can change dramatically based on the time of travel-for Hawaii,Central America and Caribbean winter time rates are significantly higher then summer time rates.
Travel on holidays –Christmas,New Year and many local and national holidays also can change you hotel rate noticeably as well.
So,I would recommend to rate hotels by their class of service:
1.Luxury-***** and more stars-some hotels rates could be with *****plus stars (*****+)
2. Deluxe-**** or ****+
3. Superior-*** or ***+
4. Moderate-** or**+
5. Economy-* or *+
6. Economy tourist class-* or *+
The same rating system could also be used for hostels as well
Best Regards to everyone
Boris

Russ Marianne
Verification of the travel tips is basically just something to generate income for GLOBOsapiens. So it really doesn't matter when your tip hasn't got a email and homepage address. It just means that they can not be verified but they still remain on the list.
I agree that some places in remote areas when you go really local they might not even hava a street name and phone number. They wouldn't be able to afford to pay the same price as a first world youth hostel i.e. So Andy is not after the money of poor people but after that of those who can afford...
On the other hand we all are happy when we know that the tip is correct.
I must agree with Marianne that a paid price would be more interesting than a general budget, mid range and expensive rating. I for instance (being swiss and being used to high prices) probably would rate some places mid range or even budget that would be expensive for somebody living in Nepal.
It's always a matter of point of view!

Hi guys,
I would like to shed some light on the verification of travel tips.
Travel tips are submited by members, based on their best knowledge at the day of posting and the data they had available. Now here is the problem. Things change, mistakes happen, not all data is available etc. So basicly you can not really be sure the data is reliable. This is where the companies come in. They will be able to verify their conact data and to add additional information to the tip, like detailed company descriptions and up to 4 pictures.
This has lots of advantages:
- The contact data can be trusted and is complete. Certificates are one year valid.
- Members and visitors do get more information on the company which is relevant to the travel tip.
- GLOBOsapiens might get a stable income on verified travel tips, opening doors for more improvements and development.
Even better. Think about it, members are the only ones who can list the businesses. If GLOBO gets bigger and better known among the travel business and travel tips increase on quality the members will become very "atractive". It is a community and the members are creating in. Not a marketing manager who is calling business to buy something. Listings are already there, if the companies want to they can add value. If not ist alright as well. The pricing is not set yet, but I am thinking about to adapt it to one typical product of them. Like for example the price of one overnight stay at a hostel will be its yearly fee.
Goal is not to make them expensive and a few of them, but to get lots of the listings for a reasonable price since they increase the overall value for everybody.
About the rating values and price range option. This is another discussion comming up, how to make the listings better and increase quality and informative value for the travelers.

Hi Andy
I had another look at the preview of the travel tips section....
The Mercure kuta Bali which is on eight position on the first site there the thumbs and membername are not in line with the above or underneath listings... I think it has got to do with the lenght of the member name globoaltraveller.
Because the same happends to murrayskiner two below.
