Mesa Verde National Park - United States, Colorado This place is one of the most fascinating places in the US. There is no definite proof who actually lived there, but it was most likely the Hopi Indians. They carved little holes in the cliff, for hands and feet, to create climbing routes up to their villages hidden in the cliffs. Some of the routes were coded and one had to know with which hand and foot to start climbing in order to reach the top.

I had a Hopi guide there and he was saying the brochures and other guides happily lied to tourists about life in Mesa Verde, and he simply said 'I don't know', 'We don't know'.
