Mont Saint-Michel de Bras-Part - France, Bretagne It is actually a tidal island, connected with the main land by a causeway, which floods during high tide. Almost exaclty opposite this island, across the English Channel (La Manche), on the southern shores of Great Britain, there is its little sister island, called ... St Michael's Mountain. It was built by the same convent. It is slightly smaller than this one.
