Club Havana just a few hundred yards from the Nelson's Dockyard was a great and lively place with an excellently stocked bar (I tried the Mount Gay Rum Extra Old, which was smooooth) and very nice food (although not so much of seafood selection). A band usually comes singing reggae live, which can be relatively loud, so if one wants just a dinner and chit-chat, then perhaps that is not the place to be after 9pm. The waiters and the bartenders were genuinely friendly and helpful.
