Formerly known as Hotel LaFayette, now called Hotel Victoria is on the main shopping street in the capital. It is a bit shabby but adequate for $35. The rooms are smallish and the 'lobby' is not very representative. For this price, compared with $400 per night at many other holiday resorts around the island, it is a great choice for an independent traveller. Location is good for Oranjestad's cinema, the governmental buildings, a myriad of great restaurants and shopping centres.
