Ufuk Pensiyon (€13.50 single, incl. continental breakfast) has an impressive location - right at a group of conical fairy chimneys, each large enough to accommodate a large family. It has several terraces, a couple for relaxing, and a couple for great views. Single rooms are small adequate and clean. It has small windows and the shower room with toilet, which is well scrubbed, but the old plumbing leaves a rather stale smell. The beds are narrow and nicely firm (not saggy). A dresser with a large mirror and a small bedside table are the only other furniture. No air-conditioning is available and a fixed radiator indicates that winters must be cold in Göremë. But one of the pension's main qualities is the manager - a very friendly local guy, who speaks good English and Japanese, and can facilitate virtually any tour in Cappadocia. He has discounted air balloon trips (20% cheaper than the official agency price) as by buying bulk tickets.
